SUMICRYSTAL
Synthetic Single-crystal Diamond

SUMICRYSTAL is a synthetic single-crystal diamond successfully mass-produced by Sumitomo Electric.

 

Natural diamonds contain numerous internal strains and exhibit individual variations. In contrast, our diamonds possess fewer crystal defects and are of stable quality, making them more suitable for industrial applications.

 

While most natural diamonds are classified as Type IA, containing nitrogen aggregates at levels of several hundred ppm, our standard single-crystal diamond is classified as Type IB, featuring nitrogen uniformly distributed at levels of several tens of ppm. This results in distinct properties compared to natural diamonds in terms of optical characteristics, hardness, and other physical properties.
